Experiencing the death of a loved one is a very difficult time in one’s life but we turn to our faith to help get us through that time, especially the first few days. Members of the parish’s Bereavement Committee connect with family members to provide assistance in planning the rosary and visitation, Funeral Mass and burial of the deceased. They help with selection of music, readings, compiling intentions, finding someone to lead the rosary, help coordinate the meal and gathering for family and friends immediately following the burial and other areas of the loved one’s upcoming services. Committee members should be compassionate, understanding and organized to help with the planning process during this time in the family’s lives. After meeting with the family, the Bereavement Committee representative completes a questionnaire that will be provided to Father listing the wishes of the family for the rosary, funeral and burial of a deceased parishioner.
