The Sacrament of Baptism

Baptismal Instruction classes for parents and sponsors are held the 1st Sunday of each month at 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. in the Cathedral Center (St. Raphael Meeting Room).  Please check the website's calendar for the exact date of the monthly class in the case of an alternate date due to holidays).  Parents should bring a copy of the city issued birth certificate of the child to the class.  To schedule a baptism or if you have any questions, please call the Rectory at 575-4741. 

Parents must be registered parishioners of Our Lady of Victory prior to attending the class in order to have their child baptized at the Cathedral.  The class is also open to non-parishioners who are in need of the instruction to have their child baptized at another parish or to serve as sponsors for an upcoming baptism in another parish. A certificate of completion will be presented to all at the end of the instruction to present at another parish for proof of attendance.  In our parish, a person needs to attend a class every five years to remain current.  That requirement may be different for baptizing at another parish's church.
